Creative variations on classic drink canape for catering

Drink snacks are an essential part of a successful event catering. Whether you're planning a corporate party, a wedding reception, or a private gathering, the small bites served with drinks are a must-have to keep guests happy. But why not make it even more fun by adding a modern twist to some of the classic canape? There are no hard rules here, but we try to think of adding a lot of color for visual effect. And also throw in a lot of bold flavors, to try and delivery a full flavor experience in a small package. Below we have listed three creative variations that we like to work with when we are throwing a bash.

1. The Bruschetta

We have a real banger of a crowd pleaser pizza that goes by "Puttanesca mess" which we have repackaged in to a bruschetta on occasion. It really packs a flavor punch and is super easy to make. This is how we do it, but you can of course simplify on your own: Oven bake cherry tomatoes in olive oil and salt until semi dryed. Assemble that with chopped up olives and capres on any toasted bread slice. then we top off with chopped parsley and our killer mayo made on parmesan and roasted garlic. Trust us, this one is great and also completely vegetarian, so no optionallity headache there.

2. Truffle Rosemary Popcorn

Another great snack option to consider for your party is elevating the flavor level of regular popcorn. This can be done in multiple directions, but one delicious recipe is inspired by the flavors of truffle fries. To make it, heat coconut oil in a pot and add popcorn kernels. Once the kernels start popping, cover the pot and shake it back and forth for 30 seconds. Then, heat truffle-infused olive oil and chopped rosemary in a saucepan until the rosemary is crispy. Drizzle the mixture over the popcorn and enjoy this delicious and indulgent snack that's perfect for any occasion. We like to serve it up in individually sized containers and grate some Parmesan on top.

3. Zaatar Puff Pastry Sticks with Garlicky Yogurt Dip

Another creative and delicious snack option to consider for your party is these Zaatar Puff Pastry Sticks. Zaatar is a savory Middle Eastern spice mix made with sesame seeds, thyme, marjoram, and sumac. Here, we sprinkle it onto puff pastry, creating a crispy and flavorful snack that pairs perfectly with a wide range of dippers. For this recipe, we recommend serving it with a garlicky yogurt dip made with olive oil and salt. To make these, roll out chilled puff pastry into a rectangle and sprinkle one half with zaatar. Fold the other half over and roll out again before repeating the process with the remaining zaatar. Cut the pastry into strips, twist them, and bake until golden brown. Serve them warm or cool with something nice to dip them in.
